Wall-e was an excellent movie.  Great effects, great production.  Awesome.  My dad only fell asleep a few times.

    Get Smart Review

    Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

    6-9 year old rating: A
    Dad rating: B

My dad and I went to see Get Smart this weekend.  Lots of funny moments, my favorite part was when when the swordfish stuck into the car.  Worth watching with your mom or dad.

    THe Hulk Review

    Friday, June 20th, 2008

6-9 year old rating: Didn’t See It!
    36 year old Dad rating:
    B-

Dad didn’t think The Hulk was appropriate for a six year old.  Anyway, he went ahead and saw it, but wasn’t too thrilled, only giving it a B-

    Kung Fu Panda Review

    Monday, June 16th, 2008

    6-9 year old rating: A+
    35 year old female rating:
    C

My mom’s college roommate, Veronica (I call her Grunya) and me saw Kung Fu Panda at Studio Movie Grill (my favorite place to watch movies btw).  Grunya didn’t like the movie too much, but in my opinion it was excellent.  Dad is a huge Jack Black fan so I should have brought him instead, but I love hanging out with my Grunya.

    The Opposite Day Paradox

    Friday, June 13th, 2008

DSC_0029.JPGMy friends and I like to play ‘Opposite Day’ which as wikipedia describes is:

a holiday which is celebrated by many schoolchildren, though often in an irregular fashion and not on any pre-determined day of the year. Typically, when Opposite Day is declared, statements always mean the opposite of what they say. In the sense that it would “excuse” untrue statements, it is related to the notion that crossed fingers automatically nullify promises.

Of course as I explained to my dad, if you say ‘it’s opposite day’ you are making a false statement and if you say ‘it isn’t Opposite Day’ you are always making a true statement.  My dad explained this is known as the ‘liar paradox‘.  After explaining what paradox meant, I suggested we call it the Opposite Day Paradox instead.  Dad agreed.  Dad then went on talk about time travel and the associated paradoxes it would create, but I told him that time travel was impossible and we started tickling each other.

Last weekend I completed Lego Indiana Jones on the xBox and after seeing Kung Fu Panda the movie I convinced my dad to pick up the video game. I am on level two of thirteen. I will keep you posted on my progress, but here is the trailer for the game:

    Underwater Me!

Dad was playing with his underwater Flip camera and took some video of me this weekend at the water park:

    The Game Plan Review

    Saturday, June 7th, 2008

    6-9 year old rating: A
    Dad rating: B-

My dad and I watched The Game Plan last night on iTunes. First released in 2007, the movie was directed by one of my dad’s fraternity brothers (SigEp). The movie is about an NFL quarterback played by ‘The Rock’ who finds out he has an eight year old girl. Throughout the movie he learns how selfish he is. I recommend it for a lazy Saturday afternoon laying around the house.
